The Inspirit Foundation has been generously supporting a special youth project during our Iftar Nights.
The Inspirit Foundation works to promote inclusion and pluralism through media and arts, support for young change leaders and impact investing—specifically addressing discrimination based on ethnicity, race and religion.
For this year's Iftar Nights, Inspirit generously provided funding for us to complete a 4-month youth project called MABELLE Youth Leaders: Building Bridges of Celebration in which Farah Jibril, Shifra Cooper and Fiona Clarke led 21 Muslim and non-Muslim identified youth from Mabelle, the West Mall and Mississauga in discussing different ways of celebrating Ramadan and hosting our Iftar Nights.
MABELLEarts hosted these after school workshops once a week on cross-cultural collaboration and facilitation and bringing community members together across real and perceived differences, which culminated in everyone's participation in special jobs, creations and performances during the Iftar.
Thank you, Inspirit Foundation!
